sarcoidosis uk.jfif

SarcoidosisUK says

The heart can be affected by sarcoidosis in two ways. Firstly, sarcoidosis can occur in the heart muscle itself (cardiac sarcoidosis). Secondly, the heart may be indirectly affected as a result of sarcoidosis in the lungs (pulmonary hypertension). Both conditions can have serious consequences.

Cleveland Clinic

Cleveland Clinic says

Cardiac sarcoidosis is a rare disease in which your body’s immune response to inflammation makes scars. These harm your heart, causing abnormal heart rhythms. Scars can get in the way of heartbeat signals, keeping them from getting where they need to go. Most people need medication, but others need devices to keep their hearts beating normally.

thoracic society anz.jfif

Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand says

Cardiac sarcoidosis can affect any part of the heart and conduction system, with a predilection for the left ventricular wall

myocardium, followed by the interventricular septum and conducting system, although the pericardium and endocardium

may be involved (333).
