Day 986.
It's been a while since I have given a proper update. I have had some family and work things to deal with and also had some time off. It has been great to have some time out with my family and look at things afresh with the start of the new year.

It's time for my annual cardiology appointment
This week I received a letter from the hospital from my cardiologist. I have an appointment for the end of April for an echocardiogram (echo for short) to check my heart function, followed by an ECG and an appointment with my cardiologist.
I am very pleased to receive an echo scan. I am intrigued to know if my heart function has improved, stayed the same or gotten worse.
At the beginning of 2024 I was very worried about edema and shortness of breath symptoms. I was convinced I had started heart failure.
But my symptoms have improved with medication. I am keen to know how my heart is doing now. I am feeling quietly optimistic.
Getting some follow ups
I went to see my GP this week. I haven't been having my period for almost 6 months. I am not sure if it's because of early menopause or due to thyroid issues.
My GP is having me do a blood test to investigate the cause. Yay!
At the same appointment I asked her about my increasingly poor liver numbers from my monthly blood tests. She is having my do follow up blood tests for my liver too to check for liver fibrosis. If it shows that fibrosis may be present, I will be referred to a gastroenterologist at the hospital.
I am very pleased to have these issues investigated. At some point last year I felt like not many of my concerns were followed up on.
A new year seems to have brought a new optimism.
