Medication side effects - months 4 to 6

Days 91 to 180.

The last 3 months were quite the roller coaster of side effects. After upping my Prednisone in month 4 I felt rubbish, but then slowly got to taper it when my second PET scan showed no active inflammation. My heart has continued to act up, regardless of the lack of inflammation.
For the record, here is a list of my medications for this period:
Medication | Dosage |
Bisoprolol | 5 mg |
Candesartan | 4 mg |
Prednisone | 60 mg tapered to 20 mg |
Methotrexate | 20mg |
Folic acid | 5 mg |
Feeling crap
Caused by: Prednisone
Upping my Predinsone dose from 40 mg to 60 mg really made me feel like crap. I would feel a boost for the first hour after taking it. Then I would crash and feel weak, tired and sluggish.
I am hoping this will change with my taper.
Fatigue
Caused by: Unsure
I feel terribly tired. I am tired when I wake up in the morning. I don't know if it's the Prednisone or the sarcoidosis.
Moon face
Caused by: Prednisone
A picture speaks a thousand words. My face has balooned. The colloquial term for this symptom is moon face. Because your face looks like the moon.
Prednisone affects how your body processes and stores fat. This makes it seem that your body is getting thinner, but your face is getting rounder.
Palpitations
Caused by: Prednisone
I sit quietly for a lot of my working day, completing tasks on my computer. This means that it is easy for me to focus on my heart and pick up any irregularities. In the last couple of months my heart palpitations have increased a lot - both in frequency and in power.
I suspect this is caused by me starting and then tapering down the Prednisone. Or maybe it's just permanent damage to my heart from the sarcoidosis. Who knows.
The palpitations are bad. It causes pounding in my chest, and pain that throbs in my neck. And tightness in my chest.
Irregular periods
Caused by: Unsure
I missed three period in the last 3 months. Outside of pregnancy, this has been the longest that I have ever gone without regular periods.
I am unsure if this is caused by Methotrexate or something caused by sarcoidosis.
