Days 181 to 270.

I am feeling the best I have felt since starting my treatment over the past 3 months. Finally my heart feels under control, and it's all due to starting Amiodarone.
For the record, here is a list of my medications for this period:
Medication | Dosage |
Bisoprolol | 5 mg |
Candesartan | 4 mg |
Prednisone | 20 mg tapered to 10 mg |
Methotrexate | 20mg |
Folic acid | 5 mg |
Amiodarone | 200 mg |
Dreams
Caused by: Amiodarone
I have been having really vivid dreams. At first I didn't click that it was an unusual level of dreaming, but it has become disruptive. I often wake up in the morning in a dream so realistic that I think I am still experiencing it.
Sun-sensitive skin
Caused by: Amiodarone
The cardiologist warned me about protecting my skin from the sun before I started Amiodarone. As soon as I started taking it, I started overheating really quickly when out and about in the sunshine. Within a couple of minutes I would feel like I was starting to burn. My skin easily turns red and stays that way for many days.
Sweating
Caused by: Unsure
I don't know if it's the Amiodarone, hormones or just something sarcoidosis does, but I have been having extreme bouts of sweating. This does not only occur when I am exercising or when the day is really warm. I can just be standing my kitchen when it strikes out of nowhere.
It is to the point that I sometimes have to go and pull myself together in the ladies room at work before I can enter the office. My scalp sweats, making my hair go frizzy. My face sweats with drops forming above my mouth, on my brow and running down my cheeks.
At least I am not having night sweats.
Shortness of breath
Caused by: Unsure
I expected the shortness of breath to decrease alongside the palpitations. However it has not. I feel that this may be heart-related, but I am unsure. A sleep clinic has ruled out sleep apnea.
Fatigue
Caused by: Unsure
My fatigue has increased, even though I am tapered to a lower dose of Prednisone. Or maybe because I tapered to a lower dose? I am wondering if it may be an indication of inflammation returning. It seems to be at the same level as before my treatment started.
Irregular periods
Caused by: Unsure
I missed one period in the last 3 months. This is better than the previous 3 months. I'm still not sure of the cause. A blood test from my GP has ruled out menopause.
